Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using FormBuddy (the "Service") operated by FormBuddy ("us," "we," or "our").

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the Terms, you may not access the Service.

2. Description of Service

FormBuddy provides step-by-step guidance for completing legal tax forms (W-4, W-9, W-8BEN, etc.). Our Service includes:

  • Interactive form completion guides

  • Multi-language support (English, Spanish)

  • Subscription-based access to premium content

  • Educational resources and explanations

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

  • You must provide a valid email address to create an account

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account

  • You agree to accept responsibility for all activities under your account

  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

3.2 Account Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend accounts that:

  • Violate these Terms

  • Engage in fraudulent activity

  • Abuse or misuse the Service

  • Remain inactive for extended periods

4. Subscriptions and Billing

4.1 Subscription Plans

  • Free Access: Limited preview of form guides (varies by form)

  • Premium Subscription: $6.99/month for unlimited access to all form guides

4.2 Payment Terms

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance

  • Payments are processed securely through Stripe

  • All fees are in US Dollars (USD)

  • Prices are subject to change with 30 days notice

4.3 Automatic Renewal

  • Subscriptions automatically renew each month

  • You will be charged on the same day each month

  • You can cancel anytime through "Manage Subscription"

4.4 Cancellation

  • Cancel anytime with no cancellation fees

  • Access continues until the end of your current billing period

  • No refunds for partial months

  • Cancelled subscriptions lose access at period end

4.5 Refund Policy

All sales are final. We do not offer refunds except in the following circumstances:

  • Technical Issues: If our Service is unavailable for more than 24 consecutive hours, or you experience persistent technical problems that we cannot resolve within a reasonable timeframe

  • Billing Errors: If you were charged incorrectly or charged after canceling your subscription

  • Duplicate Charges: If you were charged multiple times for the same subscription period


No refunds are provided for:

  • Change of mind after subscribing

  • Failure to cancel before renewal

  • Not using the Service during your subscription period

  • Completing forms and then requesting a refund


To request a refund:
Contact contact@formbuddy.app with your subscription details and reason for the request. Refund requests must be made within 30 days of the charge in question. All refund requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

5. User Conduct

You agree NOT to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose

  • Violate any laws in your jurisdiction

  • Infringe on intellectual property rights

  • Transmit viruses, malware, or harmful code

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems

  • Scrape, copy, or redistribute our content without permission

  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service

  • Impersonate others or provide false information

  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Our Content

All content, features, and functionality (including text, graphics, logos, icons, images, and software) are owned by FormBuddy and protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

6.2 License to Use

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:

  • Access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes

  • View and use form guides for completing your own forms

  • Download or print guides for personal reference


You may NOT:

  • Reproduce, distribute, or publicly display our content

  • Create derivative works

  • Sell, rent, or sublicense access

  • Remove copyright or proprietary notices

6.3 User Feedback

By submitting feedback, suggestions, or ideas, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to use, modify, and incorporate such feedback without compensation or attribution.

7. Disclaimers

7.1 No Professional Advice

FormBuddy provides general educational information only. Our guides are NOT:

  • Tax advice

  • Legal advice

  • Accounting services

  • Professional consultation


Always consult qualified professionals for specific tax or legal questions.

7.2 Accuracy of Information

While we strive for accuracy, we do not warrant that:

  • Our content is error-free or current

  • Tax laws and forms don't change

  • Our Service will be uninterrupted or secure

  • Results from using our guides will be accurate

7.3 No Liability for Errors

We are not liable for any errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in our content, including but not limited to:

  • Incorrect form instructions

  • Outdated tax information

  • Mistakes in completing forms based on our guidance

  • Financial losses resulting from form errors

You assume full responsibility for:

MAXIMUM LIABILITY:
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or $100, whichever is less.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless FormBuddy, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the Service

  • Your violation of these Terms

  • Your violation of any rights of others

  • Information you submit on tax forms

  • Your violation of applicable laws

10. Third-Party Services

Our Service integrates with third-party services:

  • Supabase: Authentication and data storage

  • Stripe: Payment processing

  • Google Analytics: Usage analytics


Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.

Our Service may contain links to external websites (e.g., IRS.gov for official forms). We are not responsible for:

  • Content on external sites

  • Privacy practices of third parties

  • Accuracy of external information

13. Modifications to Service

We reserve the right to:

14. Modifications to Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective:

  • Immediately for new users upon posting

  • 30 days after notification for existing users


Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. If you disagree with changes, you must cancel your subscription and stop using the Service.

15. Termination

15.1 By You

You may terminate your account at any time by:

  • Cancelling your subscription through "Manage Subscription"

  • Contacting contact@formbuddy.app to request account deletion

15.2 By Us

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately if you:

  • Violate these Terms

  • Engage in fraudulent activity

  • Abuse the Service

  • Fail to pay subscription fees


Upon termination:

  • Your access ends immediately

  • You remain liable for any outstanding fees

  • Provisions that should survive termination will remain in effect

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Your State/Country], without regard to conflict of law principles.


Any disputes shall be resolved through:

You agree to:

  • Arbitrate disputes individually, not as class actions

  • Waive the right to a jury trial

  • Limit discovery as determined by the arbitrator

17.3 Exceptions

Either party may bring claims in small claims court if the dispute qualifies.

  • Internet or telecommunications failures
