FORMS ARE PAINFUL

You’re Not Alone
Forms can feel heavy, but you don’t have to get every detail perfect. We remind you what’s optional, what’s flexible, and when “good enough” really is enough.

Occupation
No need to overthink this one. Just write a broad job title, like ‘Engineer’ or ‘Teacher’. The form isn’t checking the exact wording — it only needs a general idea. You’re doing fine 👍

Date of entry into the country of application
This field is asking for the date when you moved to live in the country, not just when you first visited as a tourist.
• If you entered several times, write the date you arrived to stay long-term (e.g. for work, study, or residence).
• If you’re not sure, use the date that matches your residence permit or registration documents.

Clear Words, Not Jargon
Tricky terms and boxes don’t need to feel like another language. We turn them into everyday words so you instantly know what’s being asked.

Local Rules, Explained
Filling out forms in another country is extra stressful: new language, new rules, new agencies. We bridge the gap by explaining foreign bureaucracy in clear, simple terms.

Steuerliche Identifikationsnummer
This is your German tax ID (Steuer-ID), an 11-digit number. You get it automatically after Anmeldung (registration). You can usually find it on:
• the letter from the Bundeszentralamt für Steuern (BZSt)
• your income tax statement from your employer
• recent letters from the Finanzamt
